Maintaining Active Status

Once your club/organization is officially registered by Student Activities, you must continue to maintain your club's/organization's active status.

  1. Hold regular meetings, at least one per month.

  2. Maintain an up-to-date constitution and by-laws. Student Activities has each club/organization's current constitution/by-laws on file. After making any changes, be sure to submit a copy to Student Activities.

  3. Each semester, submit a Registration and Roster form [pdf] with the current list of members and officers to the Student Leadership Council.

  4. All members of the club/organization must be in good standing with the College and attending classes.

  5. Have a Hawkeye faculty or staff advisor who attends meetings and other functions.

  6. Handle all financial matters competently and make financial records available to Student Activities and the Business Office.

  7. Have a club/organization member present at the clubs/organizations committee meeting to be held on the first Monday of every month at 12:00pm in the Brock Student Center or via video conferencing.

  8. Must submit an report of activity and spending to the Student Leadership Council or Student Activities Coordinator by April 30 each year.

  9. Have an updated club/organization web page on the Hawkeye Community College website.

Additional Activities

  1. Perform one community service activity per semester. This can be on or off campus

  2. Collaborate with another club or clubs on at least one event each semester.
