Graduating with Honors

Honors awards are given to graduates who have earned at least 12 credit hours in the past two years and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher.

Presidential Honors 4.00
High Honors 3.75-3.99
Honors 3.50-3.74

Students who have received a grade of 'O' are not eligible for honors.

Honors Medallions

Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above are eligible to receive an honors medallion. Cumulative GPA includes all credits taken at Hawkeye and those transferred in, including college courses taken in high school.

Hawkeye uses the cumulative GPA as of the fall semester of the current academic year to determine medallion eligibility for the Commencement Ceremony. Students who were not eligible for an honors medallion based on their fall cumulative GPA, but believe they should be eligible after their last semester of classes, can email the Graduation Team after all of their final courses have been graded and verified to see if they are eligible for a medallion at that time.

Medallions will be available for pick up at the Grad Fair. After the Grad Fair, medallions can be picked up in the Records and Registration office or at the commencement ceremony.

It is the student's responsibility to pick up their honors medallion.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society Commencement Ceremony Regalia
