Job Summary

This individual coordinates and schedules on-campus prospective adult student visits, including group visit events and individual student visits. Assists the Admissions Coordinator with analyzing current adult admissions/recruiting activities of the College to determine effectiveness. Assists the Admissions Coordinator with developing a yearly recruitment plan including all activities aimed at completing adult admissions goals. Communicates with prospective adult students by phone and through email, social media, newsletters, and other electronic media. Manages adult student communications through social media, newsletters, and other electronic media. Masters a general knowledge of all educational programs of the College. Serves as a consultant for adult marketing initiatives. Utilizes CRM to contact and track prospective adult students through the recruitment and admissions process. Promotes the College at marketing activities including civic events, business and industry meetings, and other off-campus outreach events. Work schedule will include four evenings a week until 6:30 pm. Attends professional development meetings as needed. Actively recruits adult students through phone calls, email, and other media. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, social sciences, business, education, business, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of a personal computer. Valid driver’s license required and must be insurable (automobile). Ability to plan, organize and complete departmental goals and objectives. Ability to work with diverse populations, faculty, students, staff and the general public. Ability to develop and maintain strong, effective relationships with prospective adult students, outreach/service organizations, businesses, and professional staff. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to conduct research and write professional reports. Demonstrated skill in human relations, communication, presentation and public speaking skills. Preferences include three years’ experience in college student recruitment/admissions; one-year experience in college financial aid; demonstrated experience with CRM/database/spreadsheet applications; and demonstrated experience working with underrepresented populations.

Employment Status

Full time twelve-month position with a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution).  Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience. Anticipated work hours will be Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
