About Me
I began my teaching career in 2007 as a full time instructor in the Communication department at UNI and taught there for 12 years. In 2017, I accepted a position teaching full time at Hawkeye Community College where I am currently an Assistant Professor. I teach a variety of communication classes, and in the Fall of 2018 was awarded a Faculty Fellow position focusing on assessment.
I now primarily keep busy teaching classes and training adjunct instructors on Hawkeye's new assessment process, as well as serving on various campus committees.
In the future, I hope to create an adjunct mentoring program at Hawkeye to create stronger connections between full time and part time instructors.
Saving students money via OER use and making sure students are able to see clear connections from class to work/life are some of my personal passions.
