Full-time Dental Assisting instructor Judy Poland is a 1993 graduate of the Dental Assisting program and a 2005 graduate of the Dental Hygiene programs. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Upper Iowa University in 2014 and is currently pursuing her master’s in health science.
Prior to working at Hawkeye, Poland practiced as a full-time clinical dental hygienist in Cedar Falls from 2005-2013. Prior to 2005 she was a chairside dental assistant for 10 years.
One reason Poland wanted to become a dental professional is because she enjoys helping people. She can still say the same about working in education—she loves to teach and help give the students the skills to succeed in their dental career.
