I learned about photography during the 12 years I spent working for master photographer Jon Read. Read Photography is a high volume studio in the Midwest and I was the head of their digital art department. I spent most of my time in front of a computer and I estimate that I have worked on over 700,000 photos during my career. All that hard work and experience has paid off with dream jobs and national photography awards. Jon and I, as a photographer/digital artist team, won Photographer of the Year awards from six different photography organizations for his high school senior photography. My illustrative photography has also won Photographer of the Year honors from my state four times, my region twice, and nationally six times.
I became a regular public lecturer at photography conventions all over the US. That is where I discovered my passion for teaching. In the fall of 2012, I left Read Photography to become an instructor for the Professional Photography program. I now dedicate my time to educating photographers of every skill level to raise the bar in professional photography.
Fun Facts
I play 15 different musical instruments and have written over 200 songs.
I have owned a photography backdrop company, recording studio, royalty free music company, and a photography studio consulting business.
