An Awards Ceremony and Comments from the Juror will be held at 7:00pm.
This event is free and open to the public, with light refreshments.
Artwork will be on display at the Hawkeye Library thru May 5 during regular library hours.

Juror Rachel Merrill
Hawkeye Community College is pleased to announce the selection of a Juror for the 2024 Hawkeye Student Art Show. Rachel Merrill received her BA from Northwestern University in St. Paul, Minnesota, and an MFA in Photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hill, Michigan. Her interdisciplinary approach integrates textiles, sculpture, and performance into video projections and installations exploring themes of spectacle, American sport, and competition. Her work has been exhibited in multiple exhibitions across the country, with her most recent performance at the Des Moines Art Center. Merrill is a recipient of the prestigious Iowa Fellowship Grant (2019) and Catalyst Grant (2023), made possible by the Iowa Arts Council and the National Endowment of the Arts. She is an Associate Professor of Art at Grand View University, where she received the Excellence and Innovation in Teaching (2018) and the Excellence in Scholarship Awards (2022).
