Backhoes are an essential piece of equipment in today's construction industry. Hawkeye Community College's Backhoe Training will instruct students on the various controls of a backhoe. Students will learn basic terminology, pre-operation inspections, proper operation techniques and the different functions of a backhoe. Training will consist of in classroom training using NCCER curriculum, following in class training. Students will need to pass a written examination. Field operations of a backhoe will also be evaluated and must be passed in order to obtain credentials from NCCER and Hawkeye Community College. Students will need to register in the NCCER system in order to obtain credentials from NCCER (The National Center of Construction Education and Research). roughly 75% hands on
