Earning College Credit for What You Already Know
You may be able to earn Hawkeye college credit by demonstrating what you already know through exams. If you have college-level knowledge and earn qualifying scores, you can receive credit regardless of how you learned the material. You cannot, however, earn exam credit for a course you have already taken or are currently enrolled in.
Hawkeye Community College offers credit by examination to recognize your prior learning and help you complete your program more efficiently. You can earn up to 30 credit hours through this option.
To be considered for credit, send your official score reports to the Admissions Office.
* If you are registered for the class you plan to test out of, you must complete the test-out process by the end of the first week of class. Exams taken after the first week are considered final exams. Fees apply for testing and transcript recording.
