Honor Society for First-Generation Students

The Kappa Tau Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) is a national honor society that celebrates and supports students who are the first in their family to go to college.

Being a first-generation student can be tough because we don't always have family members who know what it's like to go through college. That's why our chapter is here—to bring together students who share similar experiences and help each other succeed in school. It's all about working together, supporting one another, and achieving academic success as a team!

Membership

Membership in the Kappa Tau Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) is by invitation only.

To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Curretly enrolled in a degree program at Hawkeye
  • Completed at least 15 credits
  • Overall GPA of 3.2 or higher in all coursework
  • Neither parent nor legal guardian has earned a bachelor's degree

If you're selected for membership, you'll receive an invitation by email with information about club meetings. For more information, reach out to the club advisors.
