Pharmacy Technician Short-Term Training
This program prepares students to become a professional pharmacy technician and work under the supervision of a certified pharmacist. Pharmacy Technicians play an integral role in supporting pharmacists and providing safe and effective care to patients across pharmacy settings.
In this course you will learn:
- To dispense, pack, and label prescriptions according to doctor’s orders
- How to order products and maintain inventory
- How to bill and receive payments
This PTCB-recognized education program includes 112 hours of instruction. Additionally, you will be expected to spend four or more hours per week on online coursework.
Upon successful course completion you'll be eligible to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.
Career Opportunities
Individuals completing the non-credit certificate may find employment as pharmacy technicians.

Class Information
Class date: January 27 – May 15, 2025 on Monday and Thursday from 5:00–9:00pm
Class format: Live Online
Cost: $2,999 – includes textbook, practice exam, and certification exam approved by the Iowa Board of Pharmacy.
