July 07, 2025
Starting Monday, July 7, a portion of Orange Road near Hawkeye Community College will be closed for construction, impacting access to the Southwest Main Campus entrance.
The closure will extend from the east side of the Hammond/Orange Road intersection to the west side of the Southwest Campus entrance. While the Hammond/Orange Road intersection itself will remain open, eastbound traffic on Orange Road from that intersection will be blocked during the construction period.
Drivers will still be able to access campus by using the North entrance (Arboretum Drive), the Southeast entrance, or the Southwest entrance from the east side of Orange Road.
The project is expected to be completed by Monday, July 28, weather permitting. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and use alternate routes during the closure.
