Introduction to Construction Trades Pre-Apprenticeship
Do you like building things? Do you enjoy working with your hands?
Introduction to Construction Trades is a carpentry pre-apprenticeship program supported by WE Build Waterloo that will give you the opportunity to explore a wide variety of careers related to the construction industry such as general construction, carpentry, electrical, masonry, plumbing, and HVAC.
You'll engage in a 12-week residential construction or rehabilitation project to develop employable job skills.
Career Placement and Employment
Once you complete the program you'll be able to enter the workforce, begin a Registered Apprenticeship program or continue your education.
Cost
Tuition costs are covered by grants and business sponsorships. Individuals interested in being an AmeriCorps Build Crew member could qualify for additional benefits such as a living allowance and education award.
Eligibility
You must be 17+ years of age and interested in working in the construction trades.
Class Schedule
Orientation: July 6–7, 2022 from 7:30am–12:30pm
12-Week Session: July 6–September 30, 2022, Monday–Friday from 7:30am–12:30pm
Cost: $5,900*
* This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid, but is approved for other sponsorships and assistance such as WE Build Waterloo and AmeriCorps Build Crew Member.
