Fun STEM Learning from Black Rocket

Keep your kids entertained this summer at our fun, engaging, and educational STEM camps. Designed for curious and creative young minds, these hands-on camps give students the chance to dive into coding, robotics, game design, and more. Whether you're a beginner or already tech-savvy, our engaging activities and expert instructors will help your child develop new skills in a fun and supportive environment. Get ready to innovate, create, and explore the endless possibilities of technology!

Camp Details

Time: 9 AM – 1 PM and 1 – 4 PM

Location: Each camp takes place at Hawkeye's Cedar Falls Center.

Cost: $179 per camp.

Scholarship funding is available to help with camp tuition. Complete the scholarship application to apply.

JUNE 15–18, 2026 Model United Nations

Step into the world of diplomacy with Model United Nations! Represent a country, tackle real global issues, and work with peers to debate, negotiate, and find solutions. Develop skills in research, public speaking, and problem-solving—no prior experience required. Ages 11–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM.

JUNE 15–18, 2026 Young Investors & Entrepreneurs

Dream big and learn how money really works! Explore the basics of investing, stocks, assets vs. liabilities, and smart diversification—then create your own business plan and pitch it in a fun, Shark Tank–style challenge! Ages 11–16. Offered 1 – 4 PM.

JUNE 22–25, 2026 ROBLOX Coders

Learn the basics of Lua coding while designing and building your own games in Roblox®! This hands-on class blends coding, game design, and creativity as you use Roblox Studio to customize popular game styles. Share your finished games with friends and family through a secure online platform. Ages 8 – 16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

JUNE 29 – JULY 2, 2026 A.I. Designers & Developers

Explore the world of artificial intelligence and learn how it really works behind the scenes! In this hands-on program, students build interactive projects and games using block-based coding and custom machine learning models—from simulating self-driving cars to training AI to play games. Students work in pairs or teams while pushing the limits of what AI can do! Ages 8–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

JULY 6–9, 2026 Minecraft® Modders

Customize your own Minecraft world and take the game to the next level! Learn scripting and logic as you create custom mods, new gameplay mechanics, and unique worlds. Projects are shared on a secure website for friends and family. Students work in pairs or teams, with advanced options for returning students! Ages 8–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

JULY 6–9, 2026 Day in Court — Mock Trial

Step into the courtroom and put your skills to the test! Play roles like judge, lawyer, witness, or juror while learning how to deliver opening statements, question witnesses, and make objections. Wrap up the week with a full mock trial based on real competition cases. Ages 8–16. Offered 1 – 4 PM.

JULY 13–16, 2026 YouTube Content Creators

Find your voice and start creating! Explore YouTube content styles, build your on-camera confidence, learn smart digital citizenship, and develop basic editing and branding skills. You’ll leave with a plan to launch your own channel and share your projects on a secure site. Students work in pairs or teams! Ages 8–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

JULY 20–23, 2026 Make Your First 3D Video Game

Go beyond 2D and build your own immersive 3D game world! Learn the basics of 3D physics, event scripting, level design, gameplay flow, and storytelling while creating original games. Projects are shared on a secure site and designed for Windows devices. Students work in pairs or teams! pushing the limits of what AI can do! Ages 8–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

JULY 27–30, 2026 Pokémon® Masters

Calling all PokéMasters! Design your own Pokémon®-inspired card game, then level up by creating action figures, jewelry, and toys using professional 3D modeling software. Learn how to prep designs for 3D printing and build a digital portfolio to show off your creations. No experience needed—students work in pairs or teams and can share projects on a secure site! Ages 8–16. Offered 9 AM – 12 PM and 1 – 4 PM.

Summer Tech Camp Scholarship Application

Apply for a scholarship to help offset your child's Summer Tech Camp registration fee. Scholarships are designed to supplement your family's contribution toward camp costs.

Each child is eligible for one scholarship per year.
