Katie is responsible for improvements, schedules, promotional items, events, and incentive programs for the Wellness Center. She has earned an Associate of Arts degree from Marshalltown Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. Katie has received her Aerobic and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) certification as a group fitness instructor and is certified as an American Council of Exercise (ACE) personal trainer.
Katie recently joined Hawkeye Community College and is excited about seeing students get involved with their health. Her desire is to see college students graduate with a better lifestyle.
She enjoys biking and being outside, as well as spending time with her fiancé, family and friends.

Stephanie has been with Hawkeye since February of 2007. Stephanie is responsible for planning and implementation of the weekly student activities held in the Student Center as well as events and incentive programs for the Wellness Center. She also assists in the planning and implementation of intramurals, college festivals, orientations, and graduation.
She has earned an Associate of Arts degree from Kirkwood Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). Stephanie has been nationally certified as a Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer from the National Exercise Training Association (NETA). She enjoys traveling, exercising and spending time with her family, friends, and three dogs; Thea, Jackson and Lexi.

Tom is responsible for the planning and implementation of all student activities including the Wellness Center, intramurals, Student Senate, Color Me Human program, college festivals, orientations, and graduation. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts from Wartburg College. Tom is working towards completing his Masters in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa.
Tom joined Hawkeye Community College in Fall 2001. "Exercise Science/Personal Wellness is what I've always known how to do and what I've been best at!"
He enjoys hanging out with his wife and three children, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, as well as coaching wrestling, baseball, and football.

Nikki teaches personal wellness and PE-type classes. She's also a personal trainer who is available to Hawkeye students, faculty, staff, and administrators. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Heath Promotion and a Masters in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI). Nikki has been certified in a number of areas through UNI, the National Exercise Training Association, and Desert Southwest Fitness.
Nikki joined Hawkeye Community College in the Fall 2004. She enjoys teaching and empowering students to take charge of their existing levels of personal wellness."I was a non-trad after having taught exercise classes for 10-15 years. I was working full-time in retail management and teaching classes here-and-there. I simply realized I had missed my "nitch" in life and decided to 'go for it'."
She enjoys running, yoga, gardening, traveling, and enjoying life.

Cathy teaches a variety of physical activity courses including, Weight Training, Aerobic Fitness, Vinyasa Yoga, Pilates, Power Walking, and Circuit Training. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Heath Promotion and a Masters in Community Health Education from the University of Northern Iowa. Cathy has been certified in a number of areas through the American Council on Exercise, YogaFit, YMCA, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross.
Cathy joined Hawkeye Community College in January 2001. "Fitness is my passion. I think positive feedback, positive reinforcement and support are crucial in keeping students motivated. I believe in motivating students by challenging them to do things which they did not believe they could do and reach their personal best. I believe in being an educator so students understand why they are doing the exercises they are doing while reinforcing proper form and technique."
She enjoys developing incentive programs to help keep individuals motivated to exercise, reading, exercising, and family activities.
