The Hawkeye Community College Student Senate is a student-run organization that works to promote the welfare of the entire student body by giving the students a voice on campus. The Student Senate also assists in providing educational, cultural, recreational, and social activities throughout the school year.

Any Hawkeye student is encouraged to become a part of the Student Senate.
Student Senate Application
A group of six Hawkeye Community College Students traveled to Des Moines on January 28 and 29 to the Annual IACCT Legislative Conference. The student group was comprised of four Student Senate members and two Student Ambassadors. The students met with many area and state legislators to discuss issues pertaining to them and to our community colleges. The student attendees were Ashlee Theel, Jessica Englebrecht, Amy Ahmad, Jaime Yowler, Chris Apling, and Kendra Dickinson.
