What is a minimester?

Minimesters area shortened and intense period of class instruction offered between semesters. Minimesters have the same amount of credits and materials as other semesters.

When are the Minimesters?

There are two minimester sessions. One is during Winter Break (December & January) which is part of the spring term. The other is during May which is part of the summer term.

How do I register for a Minimester?

When will I be billed and when will it be due?

Shortly after registering for a Minimester class the Hawkeye Business Office will send you a Tuition & Fees bill. Your exact due date will be listed on the bill.

When will Hawkeye disburse my financial aid to my bill?

Since a Minimester is associated with the next term, if you are a current Hawkeye student, your financial aid will be applied to your bill during the next term on the usual set disbursement dates.

How do I pay my Hawkeye bill before the due date if my financial aid is disbursed during the next upcoming term?

If you are a current Hawkeye student, the Business Office will do a Tuition & Fees Agreement so you can wait to pay your bill using the next term’s financial aid. You must go to the Business Office to do this before the due date of the bill. If you have not yet been awarded financial aid, you will need to pay the bill yourself by the due date on the invoice.

How will I buy my text books?

You will need to pay for your own books from the Hawkeye Bookstore. Book prices are listed on the internet: www.hawkeyebookstore.com.

If I am not currently a Hawkeye student and am getting financial aid from another college, what should I do?

You will need to pay your Hawkeye Tuition & Fees by the due date listed on the bill. Hopefully, you may use any financial aid refund from your home college to reimburse yourself.

What happens if I withdraw from the class after I have already attended?

If you attend one day, you will be responsible to pay your total Tuition & Fees for the class.
