Dual Enrollment

Eligibility

If you are in 11th and 12th grade and have not met your graduation requirements, you are eligible. Talented and gifted students in 9th and 10th grade may be eligible. You must meet Hawkeye's admission requirements before taking classes.

Number of Classes

You may enroll in classes at Hawkeye and become a part-time student. This means you can take eleven credit hours or less, or up to three classes. You must take the course for college credit and meet the course requirements.

Credits

You will earn both high school and college credit for the courses taken. Your high school will determine the amount of high school credit you will receive. Once you successfully complete a course, it will be part of your high school and Hawkeye transcripts. If you are planning to go to another college after graduation, you should check with that college to make sure your Hawkeye courses will transfer.

Costs

You or your family will be responsible for all costs. You are also responsible for providing transportation to and from the college.
