A contracted course is just like a course offered on the Hawkeye campus, but it is offered in your high school. Even though the class is at your high school, any Hawkeye student may take the class.
You may take any contracted course offered by your high school as long as you meet your high school requirements.
You may enroll in classes at Hawkeye and become a part-time student. This means taking eleven credit hours or less, or up to three classes.
You will earn both high school and college credit for the courses successfully completed. Your high school will determine the amount of high school credit awarded. If you are planning to go to another college after graduation, you should check with that college to make sure the classes you have taken will transfer.
Your high school pays Hawkeye for the cost of tuition. The high school also provides textbooks for you to use during the class. You or your family will be responsible for the cost of transportation to and from class, field trips, and other out-of-class activities. If you do not pass a course, you or your family will be responsible for all fees.
*Steps must be completed before high school classes begin.
