| Part-time Students (Less than 12 Credit Hours) General Education Courses Only |
| 1. You do not need to complete the application for admission. |
| 2. Contact the Records and Registration Office at (319)296-2460 or by email to register. |
| 3. We need your name, address, social security number, and the name and section number of the class you wish to take. |

Full-time Students (More than 12 Credit Hours or overall have completed 12 Credit Hours at Hawkeye Community College)

1. Complete an application for admission. You may do this in one of the following ways:

Contact the Admissions Office at (800)670-4769, extension 4000 or (319)296-4000 for an application to be mailed to you.
There is no application fee.

2. Send transcripts. |
|
High school transcripts or GED scores and any other official college transcripts must be sent to the Admissions Office. |
3. Send us your ACT or SAT scores or register for the COMPASS assessment. |

Hawkeye evaluates the English, reading, and math sub scores. If you have not taken the ACT’s, you must make an appointment to take the COMPASS Assessment. Students with prior college credit in a college-level math, reading or English course (with a passing grade) are not required to take the assessment. Some program requirements vary. Please call the Student Services Office at (800)670-4769, extension 4014 or (319)296-4014 to schedule a time to take the COMPASS. |
| Confirmation & Registering for Classes | | You will be notified via mail after you complete the above steps. Upon acceptance, you will be able to register for classes, purchase your books, get your supplies, and make arrangements with the cashier’s office. |
