EVALUATION: Four tests will be administered during the course. Tests only are used for course grade. Open-book tests often require you to seek information beyond the text/study guide/broadcast. Please note that a minumum of two pages per question is required. The tests will be open-book in nature and essay in format. It is noted that at least 5-7 pages of work is required in order to do each test. This is a MINIMUM.  It will not be necessary for  the tests to be proctored.  Tests are attached to this packet and include instructions for completion.  Test 1 will cover modules 1-3; test 2  will cover 4-6; test 3 will cover 7-9 and test 4 will cover modules 10-13.   You will need to have viewed the appropriate TV programs, read the text chapter, and completed the study guide assignments before undertaking the test. THE TESTS MAY NOT EXACTLY LINE UP WITH THE PROGRAMS/TEXT . IF IN DOUBT, SKIP THE TEST QUESTION AND WAIT FOR A LATER BROADCAST.  It is difficult to have all test questions line up exactly with broadcasts/text as programs and texts change frequently. The tests include directions for completion and are self-paced.  I do note that you should complete and send them in a timely fashion so as not to be rushed at the end of the course. TESTS MUST BE IN MY OFFICE BEFORE  December 1 ,2005. FEEL FREE TO TURN THEM AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE.

GRADING:  Final grades will be based on total points on all exams/assignments.

Each exam =  25%  (N.B.  assignments, if any, will be weighted as announced.)  The  final grade distribution will approximate:

                         A = 90% and above            D = 60% to 69%

                         B = 80% to 89%                  F = 59% and below

                         C = 70% to  79

POLICIES:  There are no make-up tests as the tests are self-paced. Please turn in your
