Thanks for visiting our website. I’m Alan Clausen, Director of Industrial Training and Development for Hawkeye Community College. I have been involved with business and industry training and workforce development programs since 1969. Upon graduation from the University of Northern Iowa, I taught Industrial Arts and Drafting at a local High School as well as teaching part time for Hawkeye Community College. From 1976 to 1985 I worked at the John Deere Waterloo facilities in Foundry Engineering, Production Control and as a Personnel Training Representative. I have been involved with Iowa’s Job Training Programs since 1986; working at the Iowa Department of Economic Development overseeing the Iowa New Jobs Training Program (260E), Iowa Jobs Training Program (260F) and the Labor Management Cooperation Program. Also, I have served as Assistant Vice President at Iowa Valley Community College, and Economic Development Director at Hawkeye Community College. These experiences will help me better serve your company. Currently, I am housed at Hawkeye’s Cedar Falls Center for Business and Industry. Our Center is staffed with several professionals to deliver training designed specifically to suit your company’s needs. The Cedar Falls Center will also work with you to secure funding through Iowa’s Economic Development Programs to help offset the cost of company specific training.
