Economic Development

Hawkeye Community College participates locally, regionally and at the state level in economic development.  The state legislature has authorized the community colleges throughout the state to administer the New Jobs Training Program (260E) and the Iowa Jobs Training Program for the Enhancement of the Skills of Iowa's Existing Workforce (260F).

If a new business/industry is planning to expand or locate in our district, we would be happy to prepare a proposal indicating the dollars that would be available for on-the-job training and training expenses.   Please call us at 277-2490.

If your business/industry is in need of training for your existing workforce, dollars may be available through the state.  We can assist you in developing a proposal to secure these dollars.
