Associate of Arts (AA)
Associate of Science (AS)

The Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees are designed for transfer into four-year colleges or universities. The Associate of Science (AS) degree focuses on programs that are math and science focused.

Length of study: Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees can be completed in approximately two years when enrolled full-time.

Associate of Applied Arts (AAA)

The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Associate of Applied Arts (AAA) degrees are focused on high-quality technical courses with less general education courses. After completing these degrees, you should have the requisite skills to go directly into the workforce. If you plan to transfer, work closely with a program advisor to ensure courses transfer and you meet program requirements.

Length of study: Associate of Applied Science and Associate of Applied Arts degrees can be completed in approximately two years when enrolled full-time.

Diploma

Diploma programs are designed to prepare graduates for employment. Several programs provide opportunities to complete an associate degree with an additional year of study.

Length of study: A diploma can be earned in approximately one year (two – three semesters) when enrolled full-time.

Certificate

Certificate programs help you gain, renew, or enhance skills for current employment or to improve your employment marketability. Several programs provide opportunities to complete a diploma or an associate degree with additional study.

Length of study: A certificate can be earned in approximately 5 – 9 months (one – two semesters) when enrolled full-time.

Workforce Education Certificate

Workforce Education Certificates are designed to provide job skills through hands-on training. Completing a Workforce Education Certificate opens the door to in-demand entry-level employment and higher wages. It also introduces you to college credit programs for continuing your education. While these programs do not qualify for Federal Financial Aid, financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Length of study: Workforce Education Certificates can be completed in nine months or less.

Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship program combines on-the-job experience and classroom-related instruction to produce an employee that is skilled in their chosen occupation. As a Registered Apprentice, you'll complete 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and at least 144 hours of classroom instruction per year. Apprenticeship students must be sponsored or employed by a local business.

Length of study: Program length varies depending on the occupation and can range from one to five years.
