Building and General Use

All authorized users entering after 12:00pm on a weekday or anytime on the weekend must present a Hawkeye ID or photo identification card at the front desk.

Activities conducted in the Health Education and Services Center such as physical fitness and exercise activities, weight training, and the like involve inherent risks, dangers, and hazards. Participation or observation of all Health Education and Services Center programs is strictly voluntary.

Participants are encouraged to have a physical examination prior to participating in any activity, particularly if they have any health problems or concerns due to injury, illness, age, or a history of heart disease or high blood pressure, respiratory problems, skeletal or muscular injuries or ailments, or are significantly above their recommended weight based on a standard weight chart. Participants are expected to maintain their own medical and health coverage.

Hawkeye is not responsible in any way for accidents or injuries.

All members should inspect and familiarize themselves with the Health Education and Services Center facility and equipment before participating in any activity.

If a member is uncertain or unfamiliar with any activity or equipment, he or she should contact a Health Education and Services Center staff member for orientation.

Violations of the Health Education and Services Center policies, Hawkeye Student Conduct policies, or the Employee Manual may lead to removal from the facility or loss of privileges and will be reported to the Dean of Students.
