Art Gallery Assistant Work Study Position

Department: Fine Arts
Pay: $9.75 / hour

The Gallery Assistant performs customer service duties, welcomes gallery visitors, and monitors works of art at Hawkeye’s Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center campus. Other duties vary according to the needs of the gallery and at the discretion of the Arts & Culture Coordinator in providing services to visitors, students, or artists.

Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills, be punctual and reliable, and have the ability to work unsupervised.

Students who are interested in a career in Arts Administration will have the ability to take on additional duties, working with the Arts & Culture coordinator, to gain experience in the field.

Students have the ability to work on coursework during their shifts, and are offered flexible scheduling.

Arts and Culture Assistant Position

Department: Fine Arts

Provide project assistance to staff and perform general office duties. Must have good interpersonal and organizational skills, and have the ability to meet deadlines. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint are necessary for this position. Knowledge of Adobe Creative suite is a plus.
