A Call to Mentoring: Peer Mentor Instructor Training
Would you like to help decrease turnover in health, long-term care, and community-based settings? Improve the retention rate of direct care staff by building capacity in your organization to train direct care staff to be mentors to each other. You'll increase your knowledge and skills needed to instruct mentors and build and sustain a successful mentor program. Discussions will include potential benefits and challenges of peer mentoring. You will receive a variety of training resources including:

- Instructor Training Manual
- Peer Mentor Toolkit
Who should enroll?
This class is designed for people who have experience in teaching, supervising, or working with direct care staff in any health, long-term care, or community-based setting and want to become a Peer Mentor Instructor of direct care staff.

Mouth Care Matters
Mouth Care Matters is a specialty training course within the Prepare to Care curriculum. Direct care professionals will receive advanced oral health education, with the goal of providing optimal oral health for persons served. Graduates of this course will receive a state-issued certificate and have the specialty training listed in the State Carebook, which allows training to be portable to other work settings.
