BodyViz 3D MRI Visualization Software

BodyViz is a 3D MRI visualization software that allows students to explore the human body through the use of an Xbox 360 controller. This software is used in health sciences classes at Hawkeye including Anatomy and Physiology I and II.

Hawkeye Community College was the first community college to utilize BodyViz software in the classroom.

Using BodyViz visualization software students can:

  • Rotate, pan, zoom, or fly-through a patient’s anatomy.
  • View pathology planes and navigate the internal anatomy.
  • Label anatomical structures.
  • View tissue types such as bone, muscle, skin, and fat.

Surgeons use this technology to plan delicate and complicated procedures.
