Your Diploma

Diplomas will be mailed approximately three to four weeks after graduation.

Your diploma will be sent to the diploma mailing address you provided on your graduation application.

If you have not received your diploma within four weeks after graduation:

  1. Verify that the address provided on your graduation application is correct.
  2. Check to see if you have a hold on your student account. See Do you Have a Hold on Your Student Account?

Hawkeye is not responsible for diplomas that were undelivered, lost, stolen, or damaged in the mailing process. See Duplicate Diploma Request to order a replacement diploma.

Diploma Covers

Students who participate in the Commencement Ceremony will receive a diploma cover at the Commencement Ceremony.

Diploma covers are also available for pick up at Hawkeye. Stop by the Business Office to pay the $6.00 diploma cover fee, then bring your receipt to the Registrar's Office to pick up the diploma cover.

Do you Have a Hold on Your Student Account?

A diploma will not be mailed to any student who, at the time of degree conferral, has an account hold with the College.

If there is a hold on your student account, we will mail a letter to the diploma mailing address you provided on your graduation application notifying you of the hold. The letter will indicate which office(s) has a hold along with their contact information.

Once all holds have been resolved, please contact the Registrar's Office to request your diploma be mailed to you.

Duplicate Diploma Request

For duplicate credit program diplomas, complete the Duplicate Diploma Request form [pdf].

The cost of a duplicate diploma is $15 and can be paid to the Business Office with a credit card or you can mail a check along with the duplicate diploma request form.

Please allow three to five business days for processing.

All duplicate diplomas will have the current Hawkeye president signature and will say Hawkeye Community College even if you graduated when the College was Hawkeye Institute of Technology.

For duplicate Workforce Education certificates, please contact the Cedar Falls Center or appropriate Continuing Education staff member.

GED / High School Equivalency diplomas/transcript requests must be made online through DiplomaSender. Request a GED / High School Equivalency diploma/transcript.
