Our music lessons are provided to students of all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The main difference between the two levels is the length of the lesson, the amount of practice expected between lessons, and the credits earned. Level I lessons are 30 minutes in duration, while level II lessons are 60 minutes.

Meet the Faculty

Dr. Nahyun Kim

Dr. Nahyun Kim, instrumental music instructor, performer, and composer, has extensive teaching experience in a variety of areas, including: the music theory sequence (especially 20th century/contemporary), musicianship, music history, song writing, composition, and piano/keyboard skills.

Dr. Stewart Cramer

Dr. Stewart Cramer, vocal music instructor, earned his doctorate in vocal performance and opera directing; Master of Music in vocal performance; Bachelor of Music in vocal performance. He has nearly two decades of music and voice experience.

Ryan Pearson

Ryan Pearson, music instructor and guitarist, teaches in a wide variety of styles from classical and jazz, to modern rock and blues. One of his main interests is the overlap between music education, performance, and audio technology.

John Chiles, upper strings music instructor and violist, plays with professional orchestras across the state of Iowa including the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra.
