Meet Our Officers
President: Ally Porath — I chose the Occupational Therapy Assistant program because I am passionate about being able to help others lead the most independent lives possible. I love that occupational therapy uses creative treatments to make therapy interventions more meaningful to the client. I enjoy running, spending time with friends and family, and gardening in my free time.
Vice President: Emma Heim — I chose the Occupational Therapy Assistant program because I love being able to help others in meaningful ways. I get to help people live a more independent life and get to have fun with treatment sessions. Occupational therapy caught my attention because of how client-centered the profession is. In my free time, I enjoy playing with my dogs, going for walks outside, and spending time with family.
Treasurer: Griffin Carlson — I chose the Occupational Therapy Assistant program because I grew up with a family member needing OT services so I thought it was really interesting. I enjoy the fact that I feel like I am making a difference in people's lives. I enjoy hanging out with my family and playing my bass guitar when I have time.
Secretary: Josie Hulke — I chose the Occupational Therapy Assistant program because I aspire to be the change in others' lives. I hope to be the difference and affect others' lives in a positive way; the role of an occupational therapy assistant provides those opportunities for me. Hawkeye Community College offers small class sizes and personalized conversations with your professors to create the best educational plan and goals, which has been very beneficial for Hawkeye OTA students. The college also offers other services and opportunities for students to connect with the community. Outside of my education, I work as a CNA, spend time with friends and family, stay active, and travel or engage in outdoor activities!
