Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is an organization that provides student-athletes a voice in addressing issues of student-athletes welfare at Hawkeye Community College.
Members must:
- Be a RedTail student-athlete
- Maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Be a positive leader in their sport
- Be nominated by their coach

2023 – 2024 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
President: Olivia Hammel
Olivia Hammel of Fairfield, Iowa is in her final year at Hawkeye and is on the RedTail golf and track teams at Hawkeye Community College. Hammel is majoring in Nursing in hopes of working in a critical care unit in the future. As president, Olivia will be an official representative of the students of Hawkeye Community College, ensuring all carried motions are executed, committees perform their duties, and executive board business is in order.
Co-Vice President: Alina Bruhlmeier
Alina Bruhlmeier is from Bern, Switzerland, and is a member of the Redtail soccer team. At Hawkeye AJ is working towards her liberal arts degree and looking to transfer while finishing with a degree in finance. She hopes to make a career in investment banking after completing her courses. As co-vice president, Bruhlmeier is an official representative of the students of Hawkeye Community College, serves as a liaison among the students, administration, and faculty, and serves as a coordinator of all Student-Athlete Advisory Committee committees.
Co-Vice President: Isabella Hesse
Isabella Hesse of Dunkerton, Iowa is an active member of the volleyball team as well as the women's track and field team. Izzy is currently studying exercise science and kinesiology in hopes of becoming a lifting coach or a sports psychologist. As co-vice president, Hesse is an official representative of the students of Hawkeye Community College, serves as a liaison among the students, administration, and faculty, and serves as a coordinator of all Student-Athlete Advisory Committee committees.
Secretary: Lauren Funk
Lauren Funk from Tripoli, Iowa is a member of the Redtail women's bowling team and golf team. Lauren currently studies human resource management and accounting with hopes of becoming a human resource manager in the future. As secretary, Funk is responsible for all letters and correspondences to and from anyone outside of the organization, assumes presidential duties in the absence of the president and vice presidents, and ensures and maintains a proper record system for use of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee as well as for public inspection.
Treasurer: Magnus Jensen
Magnus Jensen from Odense, Denmark is a member of the men's soccer team. At Hawkeye he is currently studying marketing management hoping to build himself a career in sports consultation. As treasurer, Jensen is responsible and accountable for the recording and disbursement of Student Leadership Council funds, serves as a liaison between the Student Leadership Council and the College Business Office, and maintains files of all organizations’ activities and financial expenditures.
