he Performing Arts Club is dedicated to providing performing arts opportunities for Hawkeye students, alumni, faculty/staff, and members of the Cedar Valley community. Whether it be through theatrical performances, music, spoken word poetry, film/video, dance, standup comedy, a live reading of a short story, etc. we want to give you an outlet to show off your work.
Club Meetings — Spring 2023
Our club meets Fridays at 12:00pm in Black Hawk Hall 237. New members are welcomed at any time! During meetings, we perform/workshop original performances, discuss movies/music together, play theatre/improv games, and plan/host events on campus.

Open Mic Events
September and November 2022
Open Mic events are open to all students and faculty/staff on campus! Come sing a song, recite a poem, perform a monologue, tell some jokes, etc. The purpose is to give people on campus a chance to express their creative sides and show off some of their work and creative skills. These events often go for about an hour and the location varies between the Brock Student Center and Black Hawk Hall. If you want to be alerted of these events in the future, contact the Club Advisor, Ryan Courtney!

Poetry Slam
Do you have a love for poetry? Do you write your own poems or songs? Then you should perform at the Hawkeye Poetry Slam! This event is open to all Hawkeye students and is a great way to get your work in front of an audience.
4th Annual Liberal Arts Mini-Conference

The Liberal Arts Mini-Conference is a full-day event that is highly encouraged for all students as well as faculty and staff to attend. From discussions with distinguished alumni, to presentations of research and creative work from Hawkeye's Liberal Arts classes, this event highlights and celebrates the best of what an education in the Liberal Arts has to offer.
