Production Welding Short-Term Training Program
The Production Welding program prepares students for high-demand, entry-level employment in welding. Welders work in a variety of manufacturing environments.
Students are trained to produce quality gas metal arc (MIG) welds on structural carbon steel using proper techniques and procedures and to perform fillet welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Students also receive training in 10-hour OSHA general industry, applied math, electric arc welding safety, and welding-related blueprint reading. At the end of the program, students must successfully complete the AWS qualification.
Career Opportunities
Demand for welders is high with manufacturing businesses in the Cedar Valley.
Individuals completing the non-credit certificate may find entry-level employment as welders. Welders work overtime frequently. Wages do not include overtime compensation.
