Fine and Performing Arts Liberal Arts Area of Interest

If you are interested in completing a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts or Performing Arts you should consider taking 12 credit hours from the courses listed below as part of your Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts.

Fine and Performing Arts emphasis area courses explore art in its various forms. Students interested in Performing Arts will foster creativity through analysis and performance of texts ranging from music, drama, poetry, and film. Students interested in Fine Arts will investigate the creative possibilities of a variety of media and process in personal expression ranging from drawing, painting, photography, and design, as well as a contextual perspective of world art and its concepts.

Hawkeye's Performing Arts Club is for students desiring a performance experience in theater or music.

Career Opportunities

The following are some of the career opportunities you can pursue in Fine or Performing in non-profit, radio/television, museum/gallery, performing arts, education and business sectors:

Planning Your Class Schedule

Students should consult with an advisor in Student Services to select courses, make a transfer plan, and periodically review their progress towards their degree completion.

Students are also encouraged to contact the admissions office at the college to which they plan to transfer during their first year at Hawkeye in order to obtain specific program and transfer requirements.

Not all courses may be required for transfer to your future major.
