JOB SUMMARY:

This position operation, maintenance and repair of Classroom audio/video equipment, IP Video equipment, Digital Signage equipment, Videoconferencing equipment, and Streaming Media equipment. Technical performance of Video Recording systems, IP Video systems, Broadcast, Streaming Media and their preventive maintenance and repair.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Operation, maintenance and repair of Classroom audio/video equipment, IP Video equipment, Digital Signage equipment, Videoconferencing equipment, and Streaming Media equipment
  • Technical performance of Video Recording systems, IP Video systems, Broadcast, and Streaming Media
  • Provide technical support for digital streaming production and events and lecture capture initiatives. Troubleshoot and resolve streaming video problems.
  • Work with vendors on complex issues and hardware/software support and replacement.
  • Provide backup technical support for college desktop support team.
  • Respond to a variety of inquiries of department staff, for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information, backup, and support.
  • Supports the work of and promotes the vision, mission, and values of the CIS Department by upholding our standards for quality service, contributing to our team’s goals, and engaging in continual improvement efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in a Computer or Electronics related field plus two years directly related work experience, or four years of a combination of related education, training, and work experience.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Classroom audio/video equipment Telecommunications, IP Video systems, Digital Signage systems, Videoconferencing systems, microcomputer operations, and Streaming Media systems.
  • Experience with digital audio and video codes, protocols, and transport in routed networks.
  • Adept at learning new technologies and software applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

PREFERENCES:

  • Three years’ work experience with digital audio/video engineering.
  • Work experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience with audio/video control and automation systems (Crestron, Extron) in conference room or classroom environments.
  • Detailed knowledge of the design, installation, and maintenance of closed-circuit distribution systems and digital signage.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

Working conditions:  Requires skills for succeeding in an office environment, using technology.  Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.

Work is performed in an office setting.  Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours.  During course of day, interact with students, faculty and staff in person, by telephone and computer.
