JOB SUMMARY:

This position will assist youth, typically 8 to 14 years old, with digital arts and STEM education: video game creation, coding, animation, Minecraft, etc. through Black Rocket software in a computer lab setting. Part-time assignment engaging students with varying learning styles with hands on, student centered lessons.  Individuals will assist the instructor in guiding the learning processes for students toward the achievement of curricular goals and objectives as identified and documented in course outline materials.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assists with daily setup and cleanup, and care of materials, equipment, and facilities.
  • Maintains cooperative relationships with the instructor, parents, students, all divisions of the College, prospective employers, and the community.
  • Prepare for and deliver multiple rotations of Black Rocket Program curriculum per day to groups of up to 24 students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with new software/technology and/or Black Rocket Program.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, maintain customer confidence and protect operational integrity.
  • Ability to work with and provide customer service for diverse populations (faculty, staff, students, and general public).

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

Part-time position with wages expected to be $12.00 per hour. Anticipated hours will be flexible with typical hours between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.
