JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for creating and maintaining a credit course schedule.  Focus on development of clear student programs of study in Liberal Arts and Career & Technical Education inclusive of time commitment involved from start to completion.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Updates and maintains complete credit classroom inventories within scheduling software and Ellucian.
  • Serves as point person for scheduling software (EMS, Ad Astra, etc.).
  • Stays abreast of academic programs of study.
  • Examines current course offering schedules to determine efficiencies.
  • Designs course offering schedules that are efficient for students.
  • Prepares a master credit schedule working with deans and faculty that best serves students.
  • Distributes master schedule to deans.
  • Processes course offering changes.
  • Monitors enrollment in sections to improve efficiencies.
  • Reviews and distributes various reports.
  • Leads Go/No-Go meetings.
  • Prepares and posts full-time faculty teaching schedules.
  • Prepares and distributes faculty overload reports.
  • Prepares special assignment forms working with deans and faculty.
  • Works with contract assignments for adjunct faculty.
  • Provides training for College Curriculum Software System.
  • Sends notifications to key staff regarding new or modified curriculum changes.
  • Coordinates student feedback surveys.
  • Works on guided pathways.
  • Works with marketing to provide program specific schedule information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to positively interact with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service, maintain customer confidence and protect operational integrity
  • Ability to work with diverse populations staff, students, faculty, and the general public.
  • Administrative writing skills, reporting skills, scheduling, Microsoft Office skills, organization, time management, and verbal communication skills.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of skill in word processing, spreadsheets, and other software programs (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Student System software, scheduling software.)
  • Ability to exhibit professional judgment, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly to deadlines and perform a multitude of tasks.
  • Demonstrated skill in attention to detail and accuracy.

PREFERENCES:

  • Ellucian student system software experience.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

Full time position with comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance, a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expenses; personal and sick leave; and a choice of retirement programs—IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution). Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience. Anticipated hours will be flexible including evenings.
