JOB SUMMARY:
This position operation, maintenance and repair of Television Production equipment, IP Video equipment, Digital Signage equipment, Videoconferencing equipment, and Streaming Media equipment. Technical performance of Video Recording systems, IP Video systems, Broadcast, Streaming Media, and other distribution and ITFS/EBS transmission systems and their preventive maintenance and repair.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Operation, maintenance and repair of Television Production equipment, IP Video equipment, Digital Signage equipment, Videoconferencing equipment, and Streaming Media equipment
- Technical performance of Video Recording systems, IP Video systems, Broadcast, Streaming Media, and other distribution and ITFS/EBS transmission systems and their preventive maintenance and repair
- Provide technical support for digital streaming production and events and lecture capture initiatives. Troubleshoot and resolve streaming video network problems.
- Work with vendors on complex issues and hardware/software support and replacement.
- Provide backup technical support for college telecommunications and regional Iowa Communications Network.
- Respond to a variety of inquiries of department staff, for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information, backup, and support.
- Supports the work of and promotes the vision, mission, and values of the Brobst Center for Teaching and Learning Services by upholding our standards for quality service, contributing to our team’s goals, and engaging in continual improvement efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in a Computer or Electronics related field plus two years directly related work experience, or a related Associate’s Degree and four years of directly related work experience.
- Working knowledge and experience with Telecommunications, Television Production systems, IP Video systems, Digital Signage systems, Videoconferencing systems, microcomputer operations, and Streaming Media systems.
- Detailed knowledge of the design, installation, and maintenance of closed circuit distribution systems and digital signage.
- Experience with audio/video control and automation systems (Crestron, Extron) in conference room or classroom environments.
- Experience with digital audio and video codecs, protocols, and transport in routed networks.
- Experience repairing small electronics such as equipment related to telecommunications, classroom or conference room technology.
- Adept at learning new technologies and software applications.
- Ability to work effectively independently and with a team.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
PREFERENCES:
- Three or more years work experience with digital audio/video engineering.
- Work experience in an educational setting.
