JOB SUMMARY:  This individual staffs local leadership team in the implementation of project activities. Facilitates the development of Integrated Resource Teams (IRTs) to blend/braid services and funding around an individual customer’s needs. Acts as resource coordinator, facilitating team meetings to develop individual employment plans for job seekers with disabilities who are experiencing employment barriers, when applicable. Facilitates the Regional Workforce Investment Board’s operation as an Employment Network under the Ticket to Work program. Maintains positive working relationships with Community Disability Advocacy Organizations, Regional Workforce Partner agencies, Business Organizations, Social Security Benefits Planners, and representatives from the local Social Security office.  Where possible, generate new one-stop partners to enhance the capacity of the partnership to support successful outcomes for job seekers with disabilities. Communicates directly with Vocational Rehabilitation and the Department for the Blind regarding services for people with disabilities to enhance coordination of activities between partner agencies. Effectively presents information to the public (business groups, disability groups, other agencies, local government) on employment services, Social Security incentives, job accommodation, and benefits of employment of persons with disabilities. Serves as informational contact on programs and services that impact the employment or employability of people with disabilities such as health care options, transportation and housing supports. Works with partners to provide or facilitate training to One-Stop Center personnel on issues and programs related to people with disabilities such as information on assistive technologies and accommodations. Assists people with disabilities, including SSA beneficiaries and transitioning youth, prepare for, find, or retain employment.  Collaborate with mandatory and non-mandatory WIA partners and agencies. Assists SSA beneficiaries in understanding the impact of earnings on SSA and other program benefits. Make referrals to appropriate resources when necessary. Serves as a resource to One-Stop Partners staff in physical and technological access to services and information. Stays updated and applies technical material related to services provided by the Regional Workforce Center System agencies, and SSA, under the direction of the Regional Workforce Development Manager. Produces accurate, timely appropriate written and verbal communication to inquiries on client status and referral. Understands and complies with regulations for information sharing that adequately addresses confidentiality issues. Participates in statewide peer support and training activities established by the state agency partners.  Facilitates and/or leads activities when called upon by peers. If the Disability Resource Coordinator learns something suggesting procedural changes, the changes are subject to approval by the Regional Partners. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree in social/behavioral sciences, communications, business, education, vocational rehabilitation, or related field and one-year work experience in human services. Direct personal experience with Social Security, Employment, and Vocational Rehabilitation services as a customer or advocate. Must be computer literate - knowledge of search engines, Microsoft Office, spreadsheet software, Google platforms, adaptive software applications, data base management, and website maintenance. Experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of ADA and Section 504 necessary. Knowledge of disability and employment services. Knowledge of Social Security Administration (SSA) disability benefits and work incentives. Must be able to work collaboratively and individually. Must be able to travel to and from appointments and meetings. Preferences include experience with adaptive or assisted technology, experience as a Disability Program Navigator for a Regional Workforce Investment Board, direct personal experience with Ticket to Work (T2W) and/or Employment Networks (ENs), public speaking experience, experience in case management, and community college experience.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full time twelve-month position with a comprehensive benefits program including health, dental, vision, life, and LTD insurance; a Section 125 plan for medical and dependent care expense; holiday, personal, sick, and vacation leave; and a choice of retirement programs--IPERS (defined benefit) or TIAA (defined contribution).  Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.
