Job Summary
This position develops, creates, and implements solutions, repairs, and designs for desktop computer systems. Answers incoming service calls and responses to email requests. Provides information and resolves routine/basic computer issues.
Essential Job Functions
Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Works with Systems Administrator, Network Engineer and Desktop Systems Coordinator to create solutions.

Analyzes existing technology, creates and plans updates to the College’s hardware, and recommends purchase of new technology in order to keep the College current.

Sets up and repairs personal computers, as needed. Uses good judgment, tact and courtesy when dealing with the public and staff.

Maintains campus standards in the purchase of hardware and performs inventory control.

Sets up and installs software on all college computers, as needed.

Teaches sections of The College Experience and/or assists with distributing the information for technical program students.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Associates Degree in a related field and one year of information systems training OR an equivalent combination of experience and training to total 3 years.

Project a positive and professional image while working with staff and students.

Ability to maintain and prepare records and reports.

Demonstrated ability in strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work with a culturally diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the general public.

Self-starter with the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and complete advising goals and objectives.

Knowledge of personal computer software applications, networks, and Internet search skills.

Demonstrated effective oral, written and listening communication skills.

Demonstrated effective organizational skills to manage multiple and shifting tasks/demands to meet timely deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to think critically and solve problems.

Good judgment and ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
Employment Status

Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s education and experience.

Working conditions: Requires skills for succeeding in an office environment, using technology. Requires good hand-eye coordination including visual acuity to use a keyboard and read technical information; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp.
Work is performed in an office setting. Sit, stand, bend, lift and move intermittently during working hours. During course of day, interact with students, faculty and staff in person, by telephone and computer.
