  • University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Master's of Arts in History with concentrations in Urban Studies, Geography and Sociology.

  • University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Ph.D. in Urban Studies. (Urban history, sociology, geography and political science in one package) My dissertation was on Downtown Redevelopment in Minneapolis and Milwaukee.

  • I taught at Indian Hills Community College for three years. Before that, I was an adjunct at various colleges in Milwaukee.

  • I have been teaching social science courses at Hawkeye since fall 1994.

  • I have served as a chair of the social sciences department, the Curriculum Coordinating Committee, the Transfer Degree Committee, the Academic Council, and the Arts & Science Coordinating Committee.
