“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.” —Arthur Ashe

As the first person in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree, I made a lot of mistakes in college. My challenges in college led me to a career helping students to avoid those mistakes and to navigate their college experiences. I enjoy helping students to overcome academic and personal barriers to achieve success!

Like many first-generation college students, I attended three colleges before earning my B.A. in art education including Anoka-Hennepin Community College, the University of Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa. I also earned a M.A. in Youth and Human Services administration from UNI and anticipate completing my Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Higher Education, from Iowa State University in 2019.
