Campus Events and Group Meetings
To help keep Hawkeye healthy and safe, all college events should be held virtually.
There may be events that are mission-critical to the college, serve the needs of the community, and are not able to be held virtually. In those instances, an in-person event may be held using the following criteria and approval process.
The number of attendees is limited to 50% of room occupancy AND the room allows for attendee physical distancing of at least 6 feet.
All event participants must wear a face mask and maintain physical distancing.
The event must follow CDC Event Planning and COVID-19 guidelines.
All food items should be prepackaged or pre-assembled and distributed by campus food service. No self-service food items.
If food is served, a seating plan for food consumption with physical distancing is required.
All events must be approved by the department supervisor and their respective cabinet member.
Student Clubs and Organizations
Clubs and organizations should conduct meetings virtually and should not have any in-person gatherings. If a club or organization has an in-person activity, training, or conference at another location, they must get pre-approval from Student Activities.
Outside organizations may rent college facilities for meetings or small events that are educational or professional. The event must follow all Hawkeye safety protocols, public health, and CDC Event Planning and COVID-19 guidelines.
Standard room rental, technology, and cleaning fees will apply. Any additional cleaning will be charged to the organization.
Outside groups should contact Hawkeye’s events manager for information and availability.
