Invite Rusty the RedTail to Your Event

Please submit your request form at least two weeks before your event. Late requests may mean we can’t accommodate your booking.

Submitting the form does not guarantee Rusty will be available, but we’ll do our best to meet your request.

Appearances may need to be canceled if there's illness, inclement weather, personal emergencies, or scheduling conflicts.

Each event requires at least a one-hour fee, with bookings ranging from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of two hours.

Payment is due at least two days before Rusty’s scheduled appearance.

Rates:

• College events: $50 per hour
• Black Hawk County events: $75 per hour
• Events outside Black Hawk County: $100 per hour

Travel Costs: $0.50 per mile (round trip) from Hawkeye Community College (1501 East Orange Rd., Waterloo, IA 50701), based on Google Maps mileage.

To help keep Rusty safe and energized:

• Rusty will need a 15-minute break every hour.
• Rusty doesn’t speak during appearances.
• The mascot costume may only be worn by approved staff/performers and cannot be rented or borrowed.

The RedTail mascot is a trademarked character of Hawkeye Community College.

You’re welcome to take photos during appearances, but they’re for personal use only. Photos or logos may not be used for advertising, promotions, or endorsements of any product, service, or individual.

Rusty the RedTail mascot’s appearance at your event doesn’t mean Hawkeye Community College is sponsoring, endorsing, or promoting any product, service, or individual.

Any misuse of images or logos may violate the college’s licensing policies.
