Home Health Aides assist clients in their own homes and other community settings with the Activities of Daily Living (such as eating, dressing, bathing, and toileting). They, usually under the direction of a licensed nurse, perform a variety of health-related tasks. In this class they will learn the role of the Home Health Aide, Client rights and confidentiality, Communication and problem-solving skills, personal care skills, infection control procedures, Safety and recognized/ respond to emergencies according to emergency procedures, and understand the needs of various groups of clients and ways to work with them. This class will include the cost of materials, book, and supplies.
