Hawkeye Community College's Skid Steer Operator training will instruct students on the various functions of skid steers. Students will learn basic terminology, pre-operation inspections, proper operation techniques and the different functions of a skid steer. Training will consist of in classroom training using NCCER curriculum, following in class training. Students will need to pass a written examination. Field operations of the skid steer will also be evaluated and must be passed in order to obtain credentials from NCCER and Hawkeye Community College. Students will need to register in the NCCER system in order to obtain credentials from NCCER (The National Center for Construction Education and Research). Roughly 75% hands on learning
