Front End-Loaders are used in many different industries, including construction and landscaping, on the construction job site and even the removal of snow. Hawkeye Community College's Front End-Loader training will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful. Students will gain basic terminology, pre-operation inspections, proper operation techniques and the different functions of a Front End-Loader. Training will consist of in-person classroom training, using NCCER (The National Center for Construction Education and Research) curriculum. Following the NCCER Training, students will be required to pass a written examination. Excavator simulators will be used for control familiarization. Field operations of a backhoe will also be evaluated. Field operations must be passed in order to receive credentials from NCCER and Hawkeye Community College. Students will need to register in the NCCER system in order to obtain credentials from NCCER.
