The CNC Machining and Turning Concepts course builds upon the foundation of the prerequisite Industry 4.0 Basic Operations course. This course gives a more in-depth look at some of the basic principles presented in the prerequisite class including shop safety, blueprint reading, measuring equipment, shop mathematics, and CNC lathe\mill set-up using hands-on exercises and Amatrol curriculum. Students will run the CNC mill and lathe during class following example exercises and writing their own CNC programs. This course is ideal for those just getting ready to enter employment in the manufacturing industry and for people looking to advance at their place of employment. This class is appropriate for individuals working in occupations such as maintenance, machine operator, or engineer seeking to become more versed in successful CNC programming, setup, and troubleshooting. Further introduction to the industry will be made through tours of local industry.
