A career in bookkeeping allows you to work in many different kinds of businesses and industries. Learn the basics including bookkeeping terminology and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will begin with the manual bookkeeping process in order to build a strong foundation of the fundamentals in preparation for computerized accounting. Objectives learned in Level 1 include journaling and entry systems, analyzing business transactions, balancing accounts, and knowing the difference between accrual vs. cash accounting. Level 2 expands upon these accounting principles. You will gain a greater knowledge of GAAP, including payroll accounting, payroll record keeping, employer taxes and reports, and accounting for sales and cash receipts. Textbook and study guide included.
